Ferraro Behavior Services strives on providing quality therapy services from knowledgeable and compassionate contracted therapists. Each therapist goes through an extensive interview process before joining the Ferraro Therapy Team. The contracted therapists are dedicated to providing your loved one with individualized therapy that meets their specific needs and interest. They will go above and beyond to ensure that quality services are being provided on a regular basis. Each contracted therapist will communicate regularly with families, guardians, and team members on the clients’ progress. The contracted therapists are here for you and focus on our clients’ greatest needs in order to assist them in becoming as independent as possible.

Shaun Geise, CTRS Recreation Therapy Compliance Shaun graduated from Indiana Institute of Technology in 2003 with a Bachelors in Science degree in Therapeutic Recreation. While attending Indiana Tech, Shaun was a four year baseball player earning All-American recognition and was featured in Sports Illustrated. Shaun has a leisure focus in his personal time participating in a variety of active sports and feels that leisure participation, at any level, is necessary in forming a healthy lifestyle. He has worked in a variety of settings that include physical rehabilitation, adult transitional care, and adolescent group and psychiatric. Shaun came to Ferraro Behavior Services in July 2010.

Northeast Indiana

Bryan Zimmerman, MEd, CTRS Recreation Therapist Bryan Zimmerman has been a Recreation Therapist for a majority of his professional career. Bryan obtained a Bachelor's degree in Recreational Therapy in 1995 and Master's degree in Leisure Education and Studies in 1996 from The University of Toledo in Ohio. In July of 1996, Bryan began his employment as a Recreational Therapist at Crossroad Children's Home in Ft. Wayne. Bryan pursued other ventures outside of Recreation Therapy in 2005 however he returned to the field in 2011 to be a part of the FBS team on a part time basis. Bryan has the ability to utilize non-verbal communication skills such as sign language, in which, he is glad to have that ability to assist some clients in need of that language. Bryan would like to emphasize Plato's philosophy that has a strong link in forming a relationship with people through recreation: "You can discover more about a person in an hour of play than in a year of conversation." - Plato
Emma Flaugh, CTRS Recreational Therapy Emma graduated in May 2017 from the University of Toledo with a Bachelors degree in Recreational Therapy. In addition to the 5 different clinical experiences completed, she also volunteered weekly at the Perceptual Motor Development clinic on campus for children with developmental disabilities. She completed an internship of 560 hours with FBS before being hired on as a CTRS. Her favorite sessions include activities such as community outings, arts and crafts, and animal assisted therapy with her dog Cricket. Emma likes to use as many fun activities as possible in accomplishing client goals.
Imani Mayo, CTRS Recreation Therapist My name is Imani Mayo I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Therapeutic Recreation from Indiana state university in Terre Haute, IN. While at ISU I worked for Union Hospital in the physical therapy department as a rehabilitation tech helping patients and assisting therapist. I also volunteered with the Special Olympics and Happiness bags an adult day service program. After graduation I completed a 600 hour internship in a Veteran Assistant hospital in Chicago IL. While in my internship I completed 3 rotations spinal cord, blind rehabilitation and mental health. My passions lye in cooking and physical fitness. I enjoy helping people explore new ways to enjoy their leisure and appreciate the little things in life. I am looking forward to moving to Fort Wayne, becoming a part of the FBS team and growing as Recreation Therapist.
Jennifer Heitger, CTRS Recreation Therapist Jennifer Heitger graduated in May 2012 from Central Michigan University with a Bachelors of Science in Recreation Therapy. She did her first internship at The Lighthouse Neurological Rehab Center for people with traumatic brain injuries and spinal cord injuries. Her second field work experience took place at the Battle Creek Veteran's Affairs Medical Center. Here she gain experience in a short term rehab unit and Alzheimer's unit with a little time spent on the psych unit and in veteran adult foster homes. Jennifer has worked as a resident program coordinator for Brookdale Senior Living with a focus on memory care residents. She has volunteered with at risk youth, children with autism and several long term care facilities. She enjoys this field because she has a passion to work with people with disabilities and meet their needs through leisure and recreation.
Kelly Young, CTRS Recreational Therapist Kelly graduated from East Carolina University with a major in RT in 2009. While in school, she worked at an overnight camp for people with autism for an entire summer. That first sparked her interest in serving the community with disabilities. After graduation, she served on the inclusion and special populations team at Raleigh Parks and Recreation for 5 years- leading summer camps, planning specialized programs, and making camp accessible for all with proper accommodations. As a nanny and preschool autism assistant teacher for the next three years, she gained a wealth of experience with our younger population, and finding programming and resources for students in her community. Kelly came to FBS in April of 2017 serving much of the Warsaw area. She is looking forward to expanding her knowledge in a new community with different ages and abilities.
L.A. Dubay, CTRS Recreation Therapist L.A. received her Bachelor of Science in Therapeutic Recreation with a minor in Non-Profit Administration from California State University - Sacramento in May, 2019. L.A. is a recipient of several scholarships including the J.R. Needy Foundation Scholarship and the California Parks and Recreation Society Scholarship. She is a disabled Navy Veteran who is actively involved with Veteran supportive services in her community. L.A. believes in the power and healing that recreation therapy provides and is committed to helping people improve their well-being through leisure activities. L.A. enjoys the theatre and arts, creative writing and public presentations, outdoor adventures and traveling,
Lauren Gerke, CTRS Recreational Therapist I am a Certified a Therapeutic Recreational specialist who graduated from the University of Toledo in May 2017 with a Bachelor of science in therapeutic recreation. Over the course of my time at school I had many opportunities to work with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. While in school I completed 5 different clinicals along with a 560 hour internship. I have also had the privilege of going on multiple mission trips out of the country where I have worked with individuals with developmental disabilities. I have found my true passion during these trips and can not wait to help others with disabilities along with growing as an individual in this incredible field with Ferraro Behavior Services.
Ohlashia Cowley, CTRS Recreation Therapist Ohlashia is originally from Lubbock, Texas, but she lived in Michigan almost her entire life. Ohlashia graduated Cum Laude from Central Michigan University with a Bachelors of Applied Arts in Therapeutic Recreation December 13th, 2014. She has had 2 internships in Long Term Care. Her first internship was at Masonic Pathways in Alma, Michigan and her second internship was at The Laurels in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. She worked for Meaningful Day Services under the Medicaid Waiver program for 3 years with individuals with Developmental Disabilities. Ohlashia has volunteered for the Special Olympics for 5 years. She has volunteered for Wellsprings Lutheran home in Michigan for years. Ohlashia is a Guardianship Advocate for Mental Health of America NE Indiana. Ohlashia also helps take care of her sister who has a developmental disability. She began working with Ferraro Behavior Services in October 2018. Ohlashia loves working with FBS and is happy to see the positive changes in her clients lives.
Pearl Enriquez, CTRS Recreation Therapist Pearl is a certified therapeutic recreational specialist who graduated from Central Michigan University in the summer of 2016 with a bachelors degree in therapeutic recreation. She completed her academic internship within Ferraro Behavior Services and started with the company shortly afterwards. Pearl has a long volunteer history of working with at risk youth, individuals with physical disabilities, and children with intellectual disabilities. She is very passionate about this field of work and enjoys helping others reach their goals through recreational activities.
Ron Roeble, CTRS Recreation Therapist Ron Roeble graduated Cum Laude from the University of Toledo in May of 2012 with a Bachelor's Degree in Recreational Therapy. At Toledo, he served as the Vice President of the University Recreational Club where he organized annual Disability Awareness Events and worked with community organizations, such as the Ability Center of Greater Toledo, to plan annual wheelchair football games. He completed an internship in a medical setting and worked with many populations including those with mental illness and developmental disabilities. Ron joined the FBS team in September of 2012 as a Recreation Therapist and is excited to pursue his career helping those with disabilities realize their true potential.
Stephanie Raymond, CTRS Recreation Therapist Stephanie Raymond graduated Cum Laude from Central Michigan University in December of 2016. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Recreation, Parks and Leisure Administration with a concentration in Therapeutic Recreation. During her time at Central, Stephanie participated in programs such as Adopt A Grandparent and worked as an activity programmer at summer camps and respite care. Stephanie completed her internship during the summer of 2016 at Pine Rest Behavioral Hospital where she worked in the child and adolescent unit with patients who had diagnosis of depression, anxiety, borderline personality disorder, ADHD, and some patients who were on the Autism spectrum. Stephanie is excited to instill her "keep moving forward" philosophy with her clients and grow personally and professionally with FBS.

Central Indiana

Abbey Korte, CTRS Recreation Therapist Abbey Korte is a Certified Recreational Specialist who graduated from Indiana University Bloomington in 2018 with a bachelor's degree in Recreational Therapy. While attending Indiana University, Abbey had many volunteer opportunities to work with individuals with various disabilities in which she has found her true passion. One of Abbeys favorite volunteer opportunities was at a 96-team wheelchair basketball tournament in Louisville, KY. Abbey completed her 15 week internship with Ferraro Behavior Services and shortly afterwards joined the company. During her free time, she enjoys being outdoors, listening to music, traveling, crafts, cooking, and is an animal lover. Abbey is excited to grow within the amazing field of Recreational Therapy with Ferraro Behavior Services.
Abigail Gardner, CTRS Recreation Therapist Abigail graduated from Indiana University May of 2018 with a bachelors in Recreational Therapy with a minor in event planning. She received her CTRS the same month. While her love to include all people has been there for a while, her passion for people with disabilities started her freshman year before she choose rec therapy, when she volunteered at PALS, an equine assisted therapy program. There, and through out her time at IU, working with a variety of different clients and settings, she has gained a passion for helping people. In her leisure time, Abigail likes crafting, games, biking, hiking and baking. Abigail is excited to help people enjoy life and find things they are passionate about through recreational therapy.
Amanda Umphres, CTRS Recreation Therapist Amanda Umphres graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Recreation and Leisure studies with a concentration in Recreational Therapy from Middle TN State University in 2010. She received her CTRS certification in 2011. While at MTSU, she completed her internship at Skyline Madison, a psychiatric hospital in Nashville, TN. After graduation, Amanda worked at Williamson County Parks and Recreation, providing programs for seniors and people with disabilities. She helped organize and run a camp for individuals with disabilities ages 6-23. Amanda has worked with individuals on the waiver program for a total of 3 years. During her leisure time, she enjoys being active, crafting, reading and outdoor recreation. Amanda chose this field to help others achieve the best quality of life possible through recreation.
Ashley Owens, CTRS Recreational Therapist Ashley Owens graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor's of Science in Recreational Therapy in May of 2018. She received her CTRS certification in June of the same year. Ashley's passion for recreational therapy developed when she volunteered at Camp Riley for a week during the summer at Bradford Woods. During her volunteer time there, she helped provide a life-changing and fun camp experience to kids with disabilities from Riley Hospital. Ashley completed her internship at IU Health Bloomington in the Behavioral Health Department where she helped provide treatment for people with psychiatric, emotional and psychological problems that were interfering with their everyday life. During her free time Ashley enjoys reading, dancing, hiking, video games, and traveling. Ashley hopes to grow in the field of recreational therapy and provide her clients with the best quality of life through her services.
Caitlin Hochstetler, CTRS Recreation Therapist Caitlin Hochstetler is a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist who graduated from Indiana University (IU) with a Bachelors of Science in Recreational Therapy in August 2018. During her time as an undergrad, Caitlin worked as an Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapist in Bloomington, IN and volunteered for an assisted-living facility and a nonprofit therapeutic riding center. Caitlin's passion for recreational therapy grew when she participated in her service learning for IU with the largest service provider for individuals with developmental disabilities in South Central Indiana. During this service learning, she was able to play a role in preparing, empowering and supporting individuals with developmental disabilities to fully participate in the life of the community. Upon completion of her bachelors degree, Caitlin completed her 600-hour internship with Ferraro Behavior Services where she gained experience in community-integrated recreational therapy. During her leisure time, Caitlin enjoys being outdoors as much as possible hiking, fishing, swimming, spending time with her family and friends and her Redbone Coonhound, Ladybird. Caitlin is excited to enrich the lives of individuals of all abilities through recreational therapy with Ferraro Behavior Services.
Colin Davis, CTRS Recreation Therapist Colin Davis graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science degree in recreational therapy in 2018. Upon graduation, Colin received his CTRS title in August of the same year. Colin developed a passion for helping individuals with disabilities at a young age. Growing up, Colin participated in Boy Scouts and eventually became an Eagle Scout. For his Eagle Scout project, Colin built two raised garden beds with a wheelchair accessible path around them so that it is accessible for all individuals. Through this project and volunteering at a local assisted living facility in Bloomington, IN for individuals of all disabilities, Colin found his passion. Colin completed his internship at Ferraro Behavior Services and shortly after joined the company as a recreational therapist. During Colin's free time, he likes to hike, play basketball, golf, swim and participate in outdoor recreation.
Courtney Britzman, CTRS Recreation Therapist Courtney Britzman is a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist who graduated from Indiana University Bloomington with a Bachelor of Science degree in Recreational Therapy in May of 2019. While attending Indiana University, Courtney enjoyed volunteering at an assisted living facility where she aided with the implementation of recreational therapy for older adults with disabilities. She also had the opportunity to volunteer at Bradford Woods where she supervised and provided a fun camp experience for children with intellectual and physical disabilities. Courtney completed her 15 week internship with Ferraro Behavior Services in the spring of 2019 and happily joined the company soon after. During her leisure time, Courtney enjoys being active, listening to music, playing board games, participating in outdoor recreation, and spending time with family and friends. Courtney is excited to help her clients grow, become more independent, and celebrate the little victories while reaching goals. Courtney looks forward to growing as a professional with FBS and continuing to advocate for individuals who have disabilities.
F. Katy Gallienne, CTRS Recreation Therapist Katy is a 2014 graduate from Indiana University, Bloomington with a bachelor's degree in Science, focused on Therapeutic Recreation. While attending Indiana University, she was a member of Delta Zeta, participated in IUDM and volunteered as a facilitator for those with divorced families, indulged in outdoor recreation with individuals with disabilities throughout the west coast, and introduced individuals with disabilities to the community through specific and unique recreational wants and needs. She completed her internship in Salt Lake City, Utah at The Kostopolus Dream Foundation where she found a passion for outdoor recreation and adventure therapy. During her free time, she enjoys reading, listening to music, traveling, climbing, swimming, hiking, baking, and rooting on the local sports teams. She has a love for improving the quality of life for individuals of all abilities, family time, exploring with her Great Dane, Moose, interior decorating, aromatherapy, live music (Sam Smith,) and animals.
Jake Miller, CTRS Recreational Therapist Jake Miller is a certified therapeutic recreational specialist who graduated from Indiana University in 2017 with a bachelor's degree in Recreational Therapy. While attending Indiana University, he volunteered at a local assisted living facility and worked with elderly patients with various disabilities. Jake was also on many intermural sport teams, such as basketball, football, floor hockey, and ultimate frisbee. Jake completed his internship with Ferraro Behavior Services and shortly afterwards joined the company. During his leisure time, he likes to play basketball, hockey, golf, and hike. Jake is very passionate about this field of work and enjoys helping others achieve the best quality of life through recreational therapy.
Jake Newhard, CTRS Recreational Therapist Jake Newhard graduated with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Therapeutic Recreation as Indiana Tech's Therapeutic Recreation Graduate of the Year in 2005. While at Indiana Tech Jake served as Vice President of Phi Epsilon Kappa (professional fraternity for recreational and leisure students) and played four years of college basketball. Jake developed his passion for Recreational Therapy while volunteering at a recreation center for individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities in Adelaide, Australia from 2000-2002. Upon certification, Jake worked at Crossroad Children's home in Ft. Wayne, IN working with at risk youth from 2005-2010. Jake Newhard joined Ferraro Behavior Services in March of 2010 and in 2011 was named the FBS Recreation Therapist of the Year. Still with FBS, Jake moved to Indianapolis to expand the company's Rec. Therapy service area in 2016. In addition to serving his own full-time caseload, he recruits, interviews, trains and supports the FBS Recreational Therapists in Central Indiana. Since 2012, Jake as served as an Internship Supervisor for several TR interns from multiple universities. Jake has presented three consecutive years (2016-2018) at the Great Lakes Recreational Therapy Student Conference. Jake is serving a three year term (2019-2021) on the Indiana University Recreational Therapy Advisory Board.
Jillian Welk, CTRS Recreation Therapist Jillian Welk is a CTRS who graduated from Indiana University in 2017 with a bachelor's degree in Recreational therapy. While attending Indiana University, Jillian volunteered at several different places including Bradford Woods, a local assisted living facility, and a people and animal services facility, assisting people with various ages and disabilities. Jillian served her internship at IU Health Bloomington Hospital, working with adults in the psychiatric setting. Following her internship, Jillian got a job at one of Indiana's psychiatric hospital and worked with inpatient children with psychiatric illnesses. During her leisure time, Jillian loves to do any kind of physical activity and enjoys being outdoors. Jillian believes that being a recreational therapist is one of the most rewarding experiences in life and is excited to continue to change clients' lives with Ferraro Behavioral Services.
Mackenzie Turner, MS CTRS Recreation Therapist Mackenzie graduated from The University of Saint Francis with her Bachelors in Pre-Art Therapy focusing on art and psychology. She continued her education and obtained her Masters of Science in Recreational Therapy from Indiana University. While in her undergrad, she had worked at Turnstone in Fort Wayne, IN in the childcare caring for children with disabilities. She assisted the teacher in providing classroom-setting curriculum as well as opportunities for physical activity and play. While working at Turnstone, she volunteered with the Lap Club and assisted the Physical Therapist to in providing therapeutic aquatics for children and teens with cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injury, and various populations. While working on her masters, she worked as an ABA Therapist for children with autism of various ages. She worked with early learners, teaching them how to begin and develop communication, as well as preparing children to enter into the classroom. She assisted in creating the curriculum and daily activities to allow the children to be as prepared as possible for school. Upon completion of her masters, she completed a 600-hour internship at Ferraro Behavior Services gaining experience in community and in home based therapy. She is extremely passionate about helping others and is very excited to grow as a professional with Ferraro Behavior Services and be a witness to clients growing, learning and experiencing enhanced quality of life.
Megan Green, CTRS Recreational Therapist Megan is a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist who graduated from Indiana University Bloomington with her Bachelor of Science in Recreational Therapy in 2018. She developed her passion for assisting individuals with disabilities while volunteering at Agape, a therapeutic horseback riding program, at Bradford Woods during her undergrad. Megan also volunteered at Larue D. Carter Memorial Hospital where she helped plan and implement recreational therapy programs for patients with mental illness. Megan completed her 15-week internship at the Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana where she worked with patients with diagnoses such as brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke, and medically complex. She had the opportunity to assess new patients, organize and lead one-on-one and group treatment sessions, and evaluate patients' progress towards their goals. She also developed a seated volleyball clinic that is now incorporated as a part of RHI's Sports Program. Megan is eager to grow as a professional with Ferraro Behavior Services and continue to advocate for the independence and well-being of individuals of all abilities through her recreational therapy services.
Melanie Gimenez, CTRS Recreational Therapist Melanie Gimenez was hired in May of 2019 to open the Muncie and Anderson regions as a Recreational Therapist for Ferraro Behavior Services. Melanie graduated from Indiana University-Bloomington with a Bachelor of Science in Recreational Therapy and a minor in Psychology. She has an older brother with a disability and has worked with people of all abilities since her teenage years. Melanie is an active therapist, helping to engage her clients with healthy physical and eating habits, gain independence and self-confidence, and find the small victories within their everyday lives. In her own leisure time, she enjoys watching and trying to play sports, working out at the gym and in the community, followed by fueling her body with appropriate nutrition, exploring life again with her son, born in February of 2018, listening to music and dancing like nobody is watching, and including laughter and joy in her day-to-day activities. She is thrilled to be in her dream career and strives to enrich the lives of all who cross her path.
